Recent News
In June 2026, Governor Dan McKee signed legislation removing his sole authority to opt Rhode Island into the federal Education Freedom Tax Credit and requiring the General Assembly to agree first. McKee said he remains deeply concerned about the program but would consider participation if future federal guidance limited scholarship uses to areas such as tutoring, transportation, and educational technology.
